Awards were given to the Majkowski family and the Lawrence family for supporting Scouts. We also had a Committee Chairperson presentation from Mrs. La Tournous and a Scoutmaster minute from Mr. Lawrence.

We found out that Mr. Pittinger is leading a new Venture Crew and any Scout who is 14 years of age or older and wants to join should contact him. We celebrated the 100th birthday of Scouting (February 8) with a birthday song led by Mr. Moat.

We ended the meeting with refreshments.

Mr. Lawrence explained the trip to Philmont for August 9, 2011. He showed a few videos from the 2006 Philmont trip and showed us the gear that we would need for the trip. He also gave out a handout with all the Philmont information. Only 24 scouts are able to go and Mr. Lawrence will be running training hikes before the trip to get the scouts in shape for the trip. If you want to go, you need to give Mr. Lawrence a $100 deposit to hold your spot. It sounds like a great trip and a good way to support your troop.
